Washington Senate passes bill merging medical, recreational marijuana regulations

king5 marijuana newsIn a bi-partisan vote on Saturday, the state Senate passed a bill that would make sweeping changes to the state’s marijuana laws.

The bill would merge the state’s medical and recreational marijuana regulations.

It would create a marijuana registry and require medical marijuana users and their providers have an authorization card.

It would also rename the liquor control board, changing it to the Liquor and Cannabis Board.

The board still needs to pass the state House and then be signed by the governor into law.
